FishHawk Sui Generis Siren Song

Review: Fish Hawk Spirits Sui Generis Siren Song

Reviewed as part of a sample exchange with Jake Gregory of Bourbon Sippers. Thanks Jake!

I couldn’t find much information about this whiskey on-line. The image above is from the TTB label application.

Production: It’s 80 proof corn whiskey. That’s all I’ve got.

Color: Dark amber.

Nose: Intense, smokey and rich with caramel, butterscotch and vanilla. Ashy overtones.

Palate: It’s like drinking the smoke from a nice cigar. Except, it’s a little weak – it probably needed to have been bottled at barrel strength. Flavors are smoke, oak, caramel, vanilla and hints of earth and spice.

Finish: Short and smokey.

Verdict: It’s worth buying a glass at a bar to support the folks at the Fish Hawk and to experience liquid cigar smoke. I don’t think I’d spring for a bottle, though.
