The Grand Reserve • Bourbon Tasting & Dinner • America’s Native Spirit Bourbon Tasting
May 17, 2017 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm
$65
Hosted by professional bourbon educator and Bourbon Executive Steward Tim Knittel, owner of Distilled Living. Tim will lead a guided tasting and palate training that will teach you how to taste bourbon like a sensory expert.
May’s Tasting of Bourbons will focus on “America’s Native Spirit.” In 1964, Congress declared: “Bourbon whiskey is a distinctive product of the United States and is unlike other types of alcoholic beverages.”
Join us for a taste of 1950s and 60s style bourbons:
- Wild Turkey 101
- Maker’s Mark
- Old Forester 100
- Bulleit Barrel Strength
At 5:30 p.m., the evening will open with a specialty cocktail: Manhattan on the Rocks accompanied with an appetizer of Meatballs in a Bourbon sauce at The Speakeasy bar.
At 6 p.m, Tim will lead you through the bourbon tastings. At 6:45 pm, enjoy the gourmet dinner menu prepared by Bluegrass Catering:
- Grilled Peach Salad with Bourbon and bacon dressing
- Bourbon Glazed Steak and Cake: filet topped with deep fried crab cake drizzled with a bourbon glaze
- Criss Cross Asparagus
- Freshly Baked Rolls
- Banana Crepe with bourbon butterscotch sauce
- After dinner drinks available at the Cash Bar in The Speakeasy
