Special KY Bourbon School: Bourbon 101 & Basic Palate Training
Thursday, Dec. 26, 2019 • 6:00pm – 7:30pm
In this special holiday KY Bourbon School, we’re combining our two most popular classes into one! As a foundation, we’ll start with an overview of what, exactly, Bourbon is plus take a brief look at Bourbon’s history and how it’s made today. We’ll also cover how to nose and taste Bourbon like a professional. Then, we will introduce some basic palate training concepts which we’ll use to taste through a variety of Bourbons and near-Bourbons to explore the differences among Bourbon styles. We’ll finish with a blind pour to see how well you’ve developed your Bourbon palate.
This is a one-time class to lead into our year-long “KY Bourbon School” led by Bourbon-Steward in Residence Tim Knittel of Distilled Living with a new theme offered each month. They will be the 2nd Wednesday and 4th Sunday all year during 2020.
