This version of Simple Syrup should be used reasonably fast or refrigerated.
This is the version we are talking about when we talk about simple syrup in recipes.
Combine 1 part sugar with 1 part hot water.
IF you want to use your syrup over a longer period of time and be less prone to mold, boil for 3 minutes. This step is optional.
Stir to combine (all sugar should be dissolved) and allow to cool.
