1 mixing glass Japanese Mixing glass ideally (other glasses can work)
1 Bar spoon
1 hawtorn strainer
1 coupe glass ideally
Ingredients
2dashesAngostura bitters
1ozSweet vermouthwe used Carpano Antica Formula
2ozBourbon
1garnish (optional) - quality cocktail cherry
Instructions
Combine all ingredients and ice in mixing glass
Stir at length (90 seconds minimum) in mixing glass over hard ice.
Strain into coupe.

Notes
For a "Dry Manhattan" change out the 1 oz of sweet vermouth for 1 oz dry vermouth like Dolin dry.For a "Perfect Manhattan" change our the 1 oz of sweet vermouth for 1/2 oz of sweet vermouth AND 1/2 oz of dry vermouth.
