Manahattan

Equipment

  • 1 jigger
  • 1 mixing glass Japanese Mixing glass ideally (other glasses can work)
  • 1 Bar spoon
  • 1 hawtorn strainer
  • 1 coupe glass ideally

Ingredients

  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters
  • 1 oz Sweet vermouth we used Carpano Antica Formula
  • 2 oz Bourbon
  • 1 garnish (optional) – quality cocktail cherry

Instructions

  • Combine all ingredients and ice in mixing glass
  • Stir at length (90 seconds minimum) in mixing glass over hard ice.
  • Strain into coupe.
  • Garnish

Notes

For a “Dry Manhattan” change out the 1 oz of sweet vermouth for 1 oz dry vermouth like Dolin dry.
For a “Perfect Manhattan” change our the 1 oz of sweet vermouth for 1/2 oz of sweet vermouth AND 1/2 oz of dry vermouth.
