Cold Milk Punch, Hot Milk Punch, Hot Milk Punch Mocktail (recipes below video)
Cold Milk Punch
In cocktail shaker or mason jar:
• 2/3 c crushed or shaved ice
• 1/2 oz simple syrup
• 2 oz Bourbon or brandy (we used Woodford Reserve Master’s Collection Brandy Cask Finish)
• 1 oz rum (we used Second Sight Spirits Spiced Rum)
Shake, dump into 16 oz glass, grate fresh nutmeg over the top, straw and serve
Hot Milk Punch
In 8-oz mug (pre-heat mug with hot water and dump out before adding):
• 1/4 to 1/2 tablespoon fine sugar
• 1 oz Bourbon or brandy (we used Woodford Reserve Master’s Collection Brandy Cask Finish)
• 1/2 oz rum (we used Second Sight Spirits Spiced Rum)
Shake, dump into 16 oz glass, grate fresh nutmeg over the top, straw and serve
• Fill with warmed milk
Stir to combine. Grate fresh nutmeg over the top and serve
Hot Milk Punch Mocktail
In 8-oz mug (pre-heat mug with hot water and dump out before adding):
• 1/4 to 1/2 tablespoon fine sugar
• pinches of clove, cardamom, cinnamon and optional turmeric
• 1 1/2 oz apple juice
• Fill with warmed milk
Stir to combine. Grate fresh nutmeg over the top and serve
Base knowledge for these cocktails came from the book “Imbibe” by Dave Wondrich but are modified based on what we had and because we wanted to also use bourbon AND create a mocktail version.
