DAY 3 – a Rocky Road Old Fashioned & a Rocky Road Cream Punch (recipes below the video)
It’s rumored that Rocky Road ice cream was created after the stock market crash in 1929. Sometimes good things come from bad situations. (And we do have one Irish element for St. Paddy’s day.)
Rocky Road Old Fashioned
- 1 dropper walnut bitters
- 2 oz bourbon ( Hartfield & Co. Bourbon Whiskey batch #58 used)
- 1 oz simple syrup
Stir over ice
Strain into glass - Grate dark chocolate on top
- Garnish with a (toasted) marshmallow
Rocky Road Cream Punch
- 1 oz chocolate syrup
- 1tsp almond butter
- 1 oz heavy cream
- 1/4 to 1/2 oz simple syrup (not shown in video – adjusted after we stopped filming)
Combine over ice and shake then add - 2oz bourbon or rye (Elijah Craig straight rye used)
Shake again
Strain over ice - Top with (toasted) marshmallow & serve with a straw
