Kentucky Oaks – Oaks Lily cocktail variation

The original Oaks Lily recipe was developed by Tim Laid, local mixology celebrity & Americaā€™s ā€œChief Entertainment Officer,ā€ to provide a Bourbon cocktail alternative to KY Derby guests. It is named for the feature race on the day before the Derby, the Kentucky Oaks, which is run by fillies and with the winner crowned with lilies.

Vodka ā€¢ Sour Mix ā€¢ Triple Sec ā€¢ Cranberry Juice

Oaks Lily cocktail variation

Equipment

  • 1 Japanese Mixing Glass w/ ice
  • 1 Mixing spoon
  • 1 strainer
  • 1 Stemmed Glass (champagne or wine)

Ingredients

  • 1 oz Vodka
  • 1 oz Sweet & Sour Mix
  • 1/4 oz Triple Sec
  • 3 oz Cranberry Juice – Sparkling & a Stemmed glass makes this a variation
  • Lemon zest to garnish optional

Instructions

  • Stir: Vodka, Sweet & Sour Mix & Triple Sec over ice in mixing glass
  • Strain into glass
  • Top with sparkling cranberry juice
  • Garnish with lemon if available
