Like each batch, Elijah Craig Barrel Proof is an uncut Small Batch of 12-year-old- Bourbon bottled straight from the barrel. The variance in proof from batch to batch is an exercise for true whiskey aficionados. The samples are a true example of this variance, from A119 at 135.2 proof to B519 at 122.2 proof and finally C919 at 136.8 proof. As we continue to release Elijah Craig Barrel Proof editions, we will add them to our website at elijahcraig.com. We hope you’ve enjoyed this year’s releases.

Tim Knittel’s tasting notes:
Nose: Very “candy shop” with sweet red apples, holiday spice, stone fruit, caramel, honeysuckle and orange blossom
Palate: A bit of fiery cinnamon, buttery/silky mouthfeel that fades out to dry/leathery
Finish: Medium length, clean and crisp, holiday spices and mint

Hilary Baumann’s tasting notes:
Make no sense right now … in re-reading them the flavor memory doesn’t match. Skipping. Take Tim’s word for it. 🙂
